optical communicationThe head of UEFA – Michel Platini – declared on Thursday that he is not worried about the stage of preparations for the European Championships in 2012, yet he added that Poland and Ukraine “should do more”.
- We are sure for 100 per cent but we need 120 – said the head of UEFA on Suisse-Romande (RSR) air.
Platini repeated that Poland and Ukraine have to guarantee that the stadiums in Warsaw and Kiev will be ready on time. He warned that organization of Euro 2012 without the capitals of these countries will not be possible in last November.

The experts from special UEFA committee finished their three-day visit to Wroclaw which was devoted to the issues of air transport during the European Football Championships in 2012.
The UEFA delegation discussed this issue with airport and city-host representatives.
- The progress in currently run works was discussed. The experts asked for detailed information concerning among others the capacity of the airports” said the office manager dedicated to Euro 2012 in the Municipal Council of Wroclaw – Hanna Domagala.

The following meeting concerning the air transport is planned for the turn of March and April. The building of new air terminal in Wroclaw which is to have capacity of 7 million passengers yearly, is planned for 2008-2001, and its cost is about 750 millions PLN. The building works were put out to tender to select the general contractor.
There are three group matches to be played in Wroclaw on the Euro in 2012.

The experts from a special UEFA committee finished on Tuesday their two-day visit to Wroclaw which was devoted to the hotels and accommodation during European Football Championships in 2012.
The experts visited all four and five star hotels in Wroclaw. They visited 10 working objects and construction sites of four following investments.

The foundations for the stadium on which the matches of European Championships will take place in 2012 were laid on Tuesday in Lwow.
This is the second stage of building the stadium. The first one, preparing the terrain for construction, lasted from the beginning of last December.
- Laying the foundations should have taken place on 20th January and we succeeded. I would like to emphasize that the works are held nonstop – said the mayor of Lwow Andrij Sadowy, quoted by local web portals.

UEFA decided to organize Euro 2012 in eight cities.
Poland and Ukraine applied for expanding the list of host-cities to 10-12. The decision of UEFA can mean that the European Championships will pass over Chorzow and Krakow.
- We have reached an agreement with Poland – said the head of Ukrainian football Hryhorij Surkis – Euro will be held in four Polish cities and four Ukrainian ones.

The final list of the city-hosts will have been prepared by UEFA by May. Michal Listkiewicz the former head of PZPN (Polish National Football Association), who was responsible for the relations with UEFA as far as Euro 2012 project was concerned, does not exclude a possibility of 6 cities in Poland and 2 in Ukraine to be found on the final list.
