Los Angeles Galaxy striker Robbie Keane is “excited” to be back in the Premier League after joining Aston Villa on a short-term loan deal.

The Republic of Ireland international could make his debut on Saturday against Everton, who have Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan on loan, and the new Villa man is 13/2 to score first with bookmaker.
Keane has been training with the Villa squad during the MLS break and is looking forward to taking to the pitch under Alex McLeish, who tried to sign him when in charge at Birmingham last year.
“I’m excited about it and I know I’ll really enjoy my time here. It’s only for two months, but I will do my absolute best,” said the 31-year-old.
“Villa are a great club, a club with a massive tradition and standing in the game. Villa Park is one of the finest stadiums I’ve ever played in.
“I’ve been training with the players here for the past few days and it’s been great but I’m not naive enough to think I’ll just walk straight into the team.”
