One of the most intricate operations has begun at the National Stadium – the elevation of the roof line structure. Until January 4 the 70-meter spire will be elevated to the height of 34 meters above the pitch by means of 72 steel ropes. The assembly of 4-thousand-ton steel roof construction began on Thursday on the construction site of the Wroclaw stadium for Euro 2012. Works will last until March 2011. The Silesian Marshal’s Office elected the German design office GMP Architekten from Aachen  for the designer of the roof . The agreement with the company was signed on 25 April. The roof is supposed to be transparent with the openwork structure of the crown. It will cover the auditorium but not grass.
