Joleon Lescott believes Manchester City will bounce back from their Champions League setback at Napoli and beat Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
Roberto Mancini’s side lost 2-1 to the Serie A side on Tuesday evening and now need to beat Bayern Munich and hope Villarreal can take a point from Napoli to progress into the last 16 of a competition they are 25/1 with bookmaker to win.
City are 11/1 to win 2-0 at Anfield where Lescott believes they can continue their rampant goalscoring form on the domestic front.
The England centre-back insists: “We have to bounce straight back as we did after we lost at Bayern Munich. The Premier League is a different kettle of fish, and we are confident in that.
“We haven’t performed in Europe to the same heights we have in the Premier League, but we are confident going into most games.”
