Athletics – Bolt aims to make history

Usain Bolt is determined to sweep all before him and defend his 100m and 200m titles at the Olympic Games in London.

The Jamaican, 8/11 with bookmaker to win the 100m and 1/2 to secure victory in the 200m, is under pressure after losing to Yohan Blake in both events in his country’s national trials.
However, Bolt is adamant that he will prove to be unstoppable in London, with his other main rivals set to be American pair Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin.
A typically confident Bolt told The Guardian: “A lot of legends, a lot of people, have come before me, but this is my time.
“This will be the moment and this will be the year, when I set myself apart from other athletes in the world.”
Bolt is also the world record holder in both the 100m and 200m, setting marks of 9.58secs and 19.19secs when winning both events at the 2009 World Championship in Berlin.
