Football – Giggs extends United stay

Ryan Giggs has penned a one-year extension to his Manchester United contract, which will keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2013.

The midfielder, who is 14/1 with bookmaker to score first against Liverpool on Saturday, made his debut in 1991 and has scored in every season of the Premier League.
The Welshman’s deal was due to end at the conclusion of this season but his Old Trafford career will now continue until just a few months before his 40th birthday.
Giggs insists he is still hungry for more trophies, despite an already glittering career.
“When I signed my first contract, I never thought I’d be able to play at United for 22 years but I feel good and I know I can still contribute to keeping the team pushing for honours,” he said.
