Football – Mancini: City not good enough

Roberto Mancini has admitted his Manchester City side are not capable of winning the Champions League at the first attempt.

Mancini’s men are 5/2 with bookmaker to finish in the top two in Group A and secure a last-16 spot. However, they must defeat Bayern Munich at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 7th December, and hope that Napoli fail to win at Villarreal if they are to have any hope of progressing.
“We hope we can stay in the Champions League,” said the City boss.
“We hope we can beat Bayern Munich and Villarreal can get a draw with Napoli, but we should be realistic. I do not think we have a team to win the Champions League this season.
“Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter Milan all have more experience than us.”
