Football – Rodgers unveiled as Liverpool manager

Brendan Rodgers believes he has the experience to make a success of his new role after being unveiled as Liverpool manager at a press conference on Friday morning.

The former Swansea boss says the decision to move to Anfield was an easy one and admits he is looking forward to taking the club forward, with Liverpool at 2/1 with bookmaker to finish in the top four of the Premier League next season.
“Once I found out I was the number one target, it was an easy decision. Even though I’m young in age, I have been coaching and working in football for 20 years,” he told reporters.
“At Chelsea I had the experience of working with big players. Kenny Dalglish was the manager here at 34 and resigned at 39. He won three league titles and two FA Cups.”
The 39-year-old is Liverpool’s fourth manager in the last two years following the sackings of Rafael Benitez, Roy Hodgson and Dalglish.
