The pressure will be on Luke Donald at this week’s final PGA Tour event of the year as he bids to finish top of golf’s money lists on both sides of the Atlantic.

The world number one is aiming to become the first player to achieve top ranking on both lists in the same season. He is well ahead of Rory McIlroy in Europe’s Race to Dubai but has slipped behind Webb Simpson in the US list and is now 11/2 with bookmaker to finish ahead of the young American.
Simpson was runner-up behind Ben Crane at the McGladrey Classic following a play-off at the weekend and leads the race in America by over $363,000.
Donald must now finish in first or second place at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic in Florida if he is to retain his dream. However, Simpson is not taking anything for granted despite his lead.
“Finishing second is going to make it a lot harder for Luke,” said the 26-year-old American.
“But I’m sure he’s going to play well. He’s played well almost every week this year. I still wouldn’t be surprised if I have a little work to do.”
