Golf – Donald eyes repeat performance

Luke Donald is looking forward to defending the BMW PGA Championship title he secured last year and is aiming to return to the top of the world rankings.

Donald, 15/2 with bookmaker to retain his crown, beat fellow Englishman Lee Westwood in a play-off 12 months ago but has since slipped behind Rory McIlroy, 11/1 to win the BMW PGA Championship title, and is currently number two in the world rankings.
Donald, who impressed when finishing joint-fifth at the Players Championship earlier this month, said: “It’s always nice to come back as defending champion. You always come back with great memories.
“Obviously last year was one of the highlights of my career. Coming down the stretch with Lee, going into a play-off with Lee and having the number one world ranking on the line, but also a huge event on the line too.”
