Golf – Garcia eyes brighter future

Spanish ace Sergio Garcia is hopeful that he can get back to his best after securing his first win in three years at the Castello Masters.

The 31-year-old won by a massive 11-shot margin last weekend and is hoping to clinch a double on home soil by winning the Andalucia Masters, with Garcia 13/2 with bookmaker to see off a high-class field at Valderrama.
Also in the field this weekend are the likes of Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer and Justin Rose, with the Englishman 22/1 to win on a rare appearance on the European Tour.
However, Garcia looks likely to be the man to catch, with his confidence back on the rise after some torrid times over the last couple of years.
He told Europeantour.com: “It’s been really positive recently, after two really bad years.
“I think I am going the right way, but that doesn’t mean that it’s time to relax. I still want to continue enjoying myself and now I just want to play well in Valderrama.”
