Phil Mickelson insists his performances over the next two weeks will not affect how he plays at next month’s US Masters.

Mickelson, who is 8/1 with bookmaker to win the opening Major of the season, is taking part in the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Houston Open over the next fortnight as he prepares to launch his bid for a fourth Green Jacket.
The left-hander did not make the best start in the Arnold Palmer event on Thursday, firing a one-over-par 73. However, he was unconcerned after the opening day and is relishing going back to Augusta.
He said: “It wasn’t the greatest round; I had a middle stretch there of four holes where I played five over.
“I just have this ease going to Augusta because you don’t have to be perfect there. You can make mistakes, you can make some loose swings and so I feel very relaxed.”
