The Newmarket-based Italian trainer Marco Botti has confirmed that American St Leger winner Jakkalberry will be given the chance to take part in the Melbourne Cup later this year.
Arlington winner Jakkalberry is 33/1 with bookmaker to win the Melbourne Cup while Jukebox Jury can be backed at 50/1.
Botti said of his plans for Jakkalberry: “He will go to the Melbourne Cup. He will go into quarantine in September, so he won’t run again in Europe.
“There are races like the Caulfield Cup as well as the Melbourne Cup to aim at if all goes well.”
