Jockey Pat Smullen believes the only thing that can stop Princess Highway winning the Irish Oaks is the heavy going.
Princess Highway, 2/1 with bookmaker to win the Irish Oaks, is one of the most highly touted fillies in many years and impressed when beating The Fugue in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.
Smullen said: “She’s done absolutely everything right and ran away with it at Ascot. I can’t fault her build-up. She looks and feels great so there’s no problems within herself.
“The ground was on the soft side of good at Ascot but it could be heavy on Sunday so obviously that’s a concern.”
Princess Highway’s main challenger looks set to be Great Heavens, which can also be backed at 2/1 to win the Irish Oaks.
