Rugby Union – Johnson quits England role

Martin Johnson has resigned from his position as England team manager following his side’s disappointing World Cup campaign.

The 41-year-old, who captained England, 5/2 with bookmaker to win the 2012 Six Nations, to World Cup glory eight years ago, had been in the role for three-and-a-half years.
Johnson, who won 84 caps for his country, was unable to guide England, 13/2 to lift the World Cup on home soil in 2015, past the quarter-finals in New Zealand.
After beating Argentina, Romania, Georgia and Scotland at the pool stage, England were knocked out by France.
