EURO 2021

The experts from a special UEFA committee finished on Tuesday their two-day visit to Wroclaw which was devoted to the hotels and accommodation during European Football Championships in 2012. The experts visited all four and five star hotels in Wroclaw. They visited 10 working objects and construction sites of four following investments.

The foundations for the stadium on which the matches of European Championships will take place in 2012 were laid on Tuesday in Lwow. This is the second stage of building the stadium. The first one, preparing the terrain for construction, lasted from the beginning of last December. – Laying the foundations should have taken place on 20th January and we succeeded. I would like to emphasize that the works are held nonstop – said the mayor of Lwow Andrij Sadowy, quoted by local web portals.

41 737 spectators will be able to watch the matches on the new stadium which is being built in Wroclaw Maslice. During Euro 2012 three group matches are going to be organized in Wroclaw. A polish-greek consortium chaired by Mostostal Warsaw S.A. won the tender for building the object. In Gdansk the company to complete the first stage of groundwork at the construction of the Euro 2012 stadium was chosen. The works are to set off in December 2008 and last for six months. Amid fears the Euro 2012 finals were in jeopardy, UEFA has granted tentative approval for Poland and Ukraine to maintain hosting rights for what is one of world soccer’s most important events. Despite the backing, UEFA warned the joint hosts to speed up their preparations, insisting the hosting deal could still be annulled, sources from European soccer’s governing body said Friday. Poland and Ukraine were given the reprieve after UEFA’s executive committee met in Bordeaux to discuss a progress report on preparations for the tournament.

The Modernization of the second stand of the Municipal Stadium in Poznan is on schedule. On Thursday, at the board meeting it was confirmed that scheduled work will be completed till the end of August, according to plan. At present the concrete work on the top floor is being finished, construction is being built, the necessary installations and the media are assembled, and the floor laying works are being done. As soon as these works are finished, chairs and handrails will be installed and the finishing works will be done.
