GENEVA — UEFA president Michel Platini will visit Poland and Ukraine in July to check on their preparations for co-hosting the 2012 European Championship. The Silesian Marshal’s Office elected the German design office GMP Architekten from Aachen  for the designer of the roof . The agreement with the company was signed on 25 April. The roof is supposed to be transparent with the openwork structure of the crown. It will cover the auditorium but not grass. “Trojickyj” shopping centre that is build in the neighbourhood of the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, will have been liquidated by 1 June – an agreement there upon was signed by both, representatives of the Ukrainian government and the owners of the “Trojickyj” shopping centre. JSK Architekci company has shown a visualization and a miniature of the National Stadium. Its elevation refers to the national colours and imitates the waving Polish flag. It is so-called conceptional project. Zbigniew Pszczulny from JSK Architekci assured that the building fulfills all the UEFA requirements. Austrian corporation Alpine Bau Gmbh won the competition for a build of a new stadium in Lviv. On Thursday, the mayor of Lviv informed that the football matches of the Euro 2012 championship, that is organized by Poland and Ukraine, will take place in the mentioned stadium. According to Lviv city hall, the stadium that is rated for 33 thousands seats, will cost 85 millions Euro.
