Soccer – Ambitious Forest appoint O’Driscoll

Nottingham Forest will start the Championship campaign with Sean O’Driscoll in charge after confirming him as their new manager.

The 55-year-old, who spent five months as first-team coach at The City Ground last season under former boss Steve Cotterill, had only been appointed as Crawley Town’s manager in May.
Forest, who are 10/3 with bookmaker to win promotion from the Championship this season, are now owned by the Al-Hasawi family, who axed Cotterill earlier this month.
O’Driscoll made his name at Bournemouth, managing the Cherries for six years until 2006 when he became boss at Doncaster.
He guided Rovers to promotion to the Championship in his first full season in charge at the Keepmoat Stadium but lost his job ten months ago despite keeping the club in English football’s second tier for three seasons.
