Soccer – Bale expects Wales to bounce back

Tottenham star Gareth Bale remains upbeat about Wales’ chances of reaching the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil but knows that victory against Serbia is vital to their hopes.

Wales lost their opening qualifier against Belgium 2-0 with Vincent Kompany and Jan Vertonghen scoring for the visitors on Friday.
Chris Coleman’s side are in a tough Group A that also includes Scotland, Croatia and FYR Macedonia, but Bale has his sights set on a victory in Serbia that he believes will put Wales back on track.
“Our target is to pick up two wins by the end of the first four matches,” he said. “Of course, it’s important to win your home games and anything you pick up away is a bonus. But we will still go for the wins away from home.
“This is a group where there is no one massive country like a Germany, France or Spain. Everyone can beat everyone.”
Wales are 7/1 with bookmaker to beat Serbia, while the draw is available at 31/10.
