Former England captain David Beckham has his sights set on one final recall to the international fold.
The ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid ace has not featured in coach Fabio Capello’s plans since a 3-0 victory over Belarus at Wembley in October 2009 when he picked up his 115th cap.
However, Beckham would love to earn a chance to impress at the European Championship finals next summer, with England 10/1 with bookmaker to win the tournament for the first time.
An upbeat Beckham, who will shortly end his time with LA Galaxy, said: “I’m playing well, I’m still fit and I haven’t retired from international football.
“I’m never going to say it’s over for me with England. If there are players injured or out, if I’m ever needed, then of course I’m available.
“I’d love to play for England again and I believe I will.”
