Tottenham – 7/2 with bookmaker to finish in the top four of the Premier League – playmaker Luka Modric is not going anywhere in the transfer window despite Chelsea courting the midfielder, according to assistant boss Kevin Bond.

Bond, who was speaking on Friday after Spurs’ stunning 5-0 victory over Hearts in the Europa League on Thursday, stated that the Croat would not be leaving north London anytime soon.

Further speculation over Modric’s future was fuelled last night by his absence from Tottenham’s side in Scotland, but Bond said that was purely down to an injury to his thigh.

Bond told the BBC: “The chairman’s (Daniel Levy) made it quite clear that Luka won’t be leaving the football club, and probably I don’t see that changing at all.”

Spurs face a tricky visit to Old Trafford on Monday night to face Manchester United – they are 9/2 to beat the Red Devils with bookmaker – in the Premier League, and Modric may be fit for that clash.
