Soccer – Lindegaard faces spell on sidelines

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard could be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering ankle ligament damage.

The 27-year-old Dane’s injury means David de Gea is likely to be in goal for Sir Alex Ferguson’s team against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, a match United are 14/1 with bookmaker to win 2-0.
However, there is some good news for United, 7/5 to retain their Premier League title, as Wayne Rooney, Nani, Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young could all return to action this weekend.
Cleverley has not featured in the first team since picking up a foot problem during the victory at Everton in October, while Young has not played since the end of December.
Rooney and Nani have only been missing since last month’s 2-1 win at Arsenal, but their return is a major boost for Ferguson as his side look to keep the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
