Reading boss Brian McDermott is looking forward to having a summer break after leading the club back into the Premier League after a four-year absence.
The Royals, 8/11 with bookmaker to avoid relegation next season, confirmed their promotion with a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest and look set to be joined in the top-flight by Southampton, who are 1/50 to go up.
“This is my best moment in football,” said McDermott. “We are in the Premier League now and I can celebrate for the next two months. I need to get away for a while in the summer and have a break.”
Reading have bounced back superbly after being beaten in last season’s Championship play-off final by Swansea City. Both the Swans and Norwich City have consolidated their position in the top-flight this term following last year’s promotion.
