Soccer – Rangers act and axe Warnock

Queens Park Rangers have reacted to a run of eight Premier League games without a victory by sacking manager Neil Warnock.

The R’s, who are 15/8 with bookmaker to be relegated this season, are just a single point above the relegation places, which are currently occupied by Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn.
Chairman Tony Fernandes told the club’s official website: “Sadly, our recent run of poor form has seen us slip alarmingly down the table and the board felt it was the right time to make a change.”
QPR’s last league success came on 19th November when they won 3-2 at Stoke City and since then they have garnered just two points from draws with West Brom and Swansea.
At the weekend they were held to a 1-1 draw at League One MK Dons in the third round of the FA Cup and if they prevail in a replay they will host Chelsea at Loftus Road in round four.
