Soccer – Trophies crucial for Villas-Boas

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas admits that silverware will decide whether he is viewed as a success or a failure at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues 4/7 with bookmaker to win a major trophy this season.

The Portuguese, appointed in the summer after success with FC Porto, has seen his side win only once in their last four games, while their recent Premier League form of three wins and three losses has seen them fall nine points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
However, Villas-Boas is content that he still has the full backing of club owner Roman Abramovich and the rest of the Blues hierarchy.
“I have had conversations with the owner and they have been very supportive.
“Our responsibilities are to win every game. When things don’t go our way, we can’t be happy.
“There’s a good spirit in the group. The owner is happy with our attacking philosophy, but we won’t avoid our responsibilities to win titles – what is expected of us is to win titles.”
