Robin van Persie looks set to miss at least one of Arsenal’s games during the busy festive programme.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to keep one of his best players fresh even though the Dutchman is on the verge of breaking former England striker Alan Shearer’s record for Premier League goals scored in a calendar year.
Van Persie is two goals behind Shearer, but Wenger is unsure whether to start with the striker in Tuesday’s game against Wolves and the QPR match on New Year’s Eve.
